Sweet Tofu Strips with Apple

Ingredients

For the tofu

  • 800 g Lunter Natural Tofu, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

For the caramelized sauce

  • 80 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 150 ml water

For the apples

  • 3 large apples, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil (for sautéing)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

For garnish (optional)

  • 2 tbsp toasted nuts

Instructions

Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.

Cut into thin strips and toss with cornstarch.

Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

Fry tofu strips for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, add brown sugar, maple syrup and water.

Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thick and glossy. Add cinnamon.

Return the crispy tofu to the pan and toss to coat.

In a separate pan, heat butter or oil over medium heat.

Add apple slices, lemon juice, and brown sugar.

Sauté for 5 minutes until caramelized and slightly soft.

Arrange the tofu and apples on a plate and sprinkle with toasted nuts.
